A BILL to amend article seven, chapter seven of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended,
by adding thereto a new section, designated section twenty-
three, relating to requiring the county commission of each
county to determine the amount of compensation of all
employees of the county.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article seven, chapter seven of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be
amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section
twenty-three, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 7. TRAINING PROGRAMS FOR COUNTY EMPLOYEES, ETC.;
COMPENSATION OF ELECTED COUNTY OFFICIALS; COUNTY ASSISTANTS, DEPUTIES AND EMPLOYEES, THEIR NUMBER
AND COMPENSATION.
§7-7-23. County commissions to determine compensation.
Notwithstanding any other provision of this code to the
contrary, the county commission of each county shall determine
the amount of compensation of every employee of the county.
"Employee" includes, but is not limited to, the members of the
county commission and all other elected officials of the county.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require the county
commission of each county to determine the amount of compensation
of all county employees.
